It was Friday night and people just got paid, so what did they do?
Seems like everyone headed down to the riverfront amphitheater Chene
Park for the Anthony Hamilton and Fantasia concert because it was
definitely off the chain. It was a packed sold out crowd on another
beautiful evening at the outdoor theater. And yes it was completely sold
out, you would have thought it was a free concert the way it was packed
as fans piled in to see the two North Carolina singing natives.
The
beautiful people showed up and showed out. The show opened with Detroit
comedian Bill Hill loosening up the crowd with his side busting humor,
giving the people a chance to get their drinks, grab a bite to eat and
get to their seats. Then Anthony Hamilton took to the stage, sending the
crowd into a frenzy as he sang most of his hits that have melted his
female fan's hearts. This young man has some serious pipes and showed
why he is considered one of the best soulful singers out today. I don't
think the fans even sat down at all during his performance. After a
seemingly long intermission, but it wasn't bad because of the perfect
breeze that befall the awaiting audience, then Fantasia graced the stage
with her presence. The former American Idol winner did not let up on
the fans as she bellowed out hit after hit, continuing to keep the
packed crowd on their feet. When she sings her songs come from deep down
from her soul, you can see it as it comes out of her mouth and this is
why she continues to be a an fan favorite. Yes it was another good night
out as Chene Park delivered another great show for the City of Detroit
while they continue to celebrate the 30 years anniversary of the
outdoor venue. There is still plenty of good shows lined up for the
