DARK PLACES

Plot:

Libby Day (Theron) is a woman that is hustling daily just to get by, trying to do whatever she can to keep from reminiscing on the horrific events that happened to her family while she was a little girl. Her mother and two sisters were murdered by her teen brother who is now serving time for the crime named Ben Day (Stoll). She hooks up with a mysterious young Lyle (Hoult) who is a member of a group bent on solving unresolved crimes and his group is interested in the crime regarding her family. Getting paid to participate, part of the stipulation is that she must visit her brother in jail whom she has not seen since she testified as a child in court, because the crime busters believe that he is innocent. While during her investigation she sees that things were much deeper and disturbing as she uncover secrets that she never would have imagined. And uncovering the truth may also mean that she may be putting herself in danger just to protect some deadly dark secrets.

Reel Talk:

This was a very good mind twisting movie. Their are secrets and twists and surprises that keeps your mind boggled until the surprise ending. Charlize Theron is amazing as the tough hustling nomad but clueless to what really is going on woman. She is one of those women that even when they are trying to look bad she stills looks good. I liked this film because of they way that you will never figure out what really happened until the very end. Sort of like an old Alfred Hitchcock movie that kept you in suspense sprinkling a few clues here and there. A very good suspenseful thriller that is worth the bucks.
