THE EQUALIZER

Plot:

Robert McCall (Washington) is a neat, methodical man who just wants to live a simple life of just going to work and going to his favorite diner to drink tea and read a book. But he has a dark,  mysterious and secret past that he will soon revisit when Teri (Moretz), a young teenage girl that he becomes fond of is brutally beaten by her Russian pimp. When he goes and settles the issue as well as a few other matters that involves people being unjustly treated, the head of the Russian mob sends his enforcer Teddy (Csokas) to get revenge. This engages the two into a game of death which only one will win.

Reel Talk:

Let me first clear up that this should not be compared to the 80's television series although they share the title and character's name. This one is no holds barred violent and bloody. Denzel is a one man wrecking crew, but also smooth and cool as ice as Robert McCall. Definitely a thrill ride that  action junkies will enjoy.

Starring: Denzel Washington, Marton Csokas, Chloe Grace Moretz, David Harbour, Haley Bennett and Bill Pullman
Directed by: Antoine Fuqua
Rated: R

I give it 4 corn dogs.
