CREED

Plot:

Adonis Johnson (Jordan) grew up as a wayward youth in and out of boy's homes with a knack for fighting when he was taken in by Mary Anne Creed (Rashad) and told that he was the son of deceased boxing legend Apollo Creed, conceived from an extramarital affair. After trying to live a normal life in the corporate world he realizes that by blood he is a fighter so he takes off from California to Philadelphia to see if he can get his dad's longtime boxing rival and friend, former heavyweight champion Rocky Balboa (Stallone) to train him. Reluctantly from being persistently pressured by the young boxer Rocky decides to train him, but little does the retired boxer know that it will also help him with another fight outside the ring. With the two in each other's corner they will battle the challenges that will change their lives.

Reel Talk:

WOW...it has been some thirty years since we were introduced to Sylvester Stallone's character Rocky Balboa  and we have seen him have some classic battles since then but now the time has come for the torch to be passed and Michael B. Jordan has been chosen as the successor with his portrayal as the offspring of Apollo Creed. As we have become accustom to the boxing matches are ridiculously unreal but we still root for the movie's star and in this case Jordan carries that burden. Still a good entertaining film that just may be the beginning of a new franchise. Worth the admission so go check it out.
