FIFTY SHADES OF GREY

Plot:

When young college senior Anastasia Steele (Johnson) fills in to do an interview for an ailing friend, she is quite uncomfortable questioning the young eccentric billionaire Christian Grey (Dornan). From their encounter, a chemistry brews that entices them both to want to explore the option of seeing each other again but for the controlling Christians it has to be to the terms of rules and a contract. Anastasia's curiousity leads her to the challenge into the mysterious and erotic world that shrouds some deep dark secrets in the young man's life that will only eventually sexually and emotionally complicate her life as well.

Reel Talk:

This could have been called "Fifty Shades Of Whack" or "Fifty Shades Of Boring". This film adaptation from the E.L. James novel (which I did not read nor have an interest to read) that is the rave among women is definitely a movie that mostly women will probably enjoy. The movie was just stiff and pretty much dull, with poor chemistry between the two leading characters and a terrible ending. Honestly this movie in my opinion is a poor knock off version of the 1986 classic Nine 1/2 Weeks that starred Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger which is a great movie. Because Fifty Shades Of Grey is an all hype film it will still do well at the box office but really I would say save your money or rent Nine 1/2 Weeks if you want to see a good erotic movie.

Starring: Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, Jennifer Ehle, Eloise Mumford, Victor Rasuk, Marcia Gay Harden and Rita Ora
Directed by: Sam Taylor-Johnson
Rated: R

I give it 2 corn dogs.
