THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINJAY-PT 1
Plot:
After winning the last Hunger Games and embarrassing President Snow (Sutherland), Katniss Everdeen's (Lawrence) district is destroyed so she and her family take refuge in another district run by President Alma Coin (Moore) who wants Katniss to represent the people of the districts by becoming the face of the Mockinjay. She decides to to do it but only after some demands are agreed to, one being that her friend Peeta Merllark (Hutcherson), who she believed died but is now being used as the spokesperson for Capitol by President Snow, gets rescued. Once she becomes the Mockinjay rep, Snow wages an all out war against the districts to bring them to complete ruins for their rebellious ways and to break Katniss' spirit.
Reel Talk:
Being the third installment to the Hunger Games and with the war between districts and Capitol now in the works you would think that the action would be stepped up, but unfortunately this one is just as boring as the previous two. Everyone says that you should read the books to follow along but I can only imagine that the novels are just as slow and boring. The only real enjoyment for me was seeing the late Philip Seymour Hoffman in one of his last roles on screen, always enjoy his acting. Outside of that this movie is a complete bore. You can wait to catch it on DVD or even cable, unless you enjoyed the book then knock yourself out.
