ENTOURAGE
Plot:
Fresh off his divorce, Hollywood megastar Vincent Chase (Grenier) decides to not only star in is his new movie but also wants to direct it, so along with his entourage of Eric (Connolly), Turtle (Ferrara), Drama (Dillon) they convince former entertainment agent now movie executive Ari Gold (Piven) to do just that. Eventually the movie production goes way over budget and they press a reluctant Ari to head to Texas so that he can acquire more money from their primary investor only to be refused further monies unless they allow the investor's son to go with Ari to Los Angeles to get a preview of the film. The pressure mounts on the group as they try to impress the spoiled rich kid as well as try to deal with the personal issues that each one is encountering.
Reel Talk:
Entourage Hits The Big Screen!!! The boys from the hit HBO series all get together for the little over a hour and a half movie that could have easily been a special presentation for the cable station but was selected to be shown in theaters. Either way it was a good movie and you didn't have to be a fan of the series to enjoy this film although it helps knowing the characters. With all the celebrity cameos from just about everyone involved with sports and entertainment, it was like one big Hollywood party with the audience as their special invited guests. It should have been easy for director / writer Doug Ellin to do this project since he is the man behind the HBO series. An enjoyable and entertaining movie that even though it would have worked on cable is worth checking out in the theaters.
