Ray is all set to take his daughter Blake (Daddario) cross state to her college in San Francisco when he is called away to help in Las Vegas after they were hit with a massive earthquake. Believing that the worse is over, an earthquake specialist named Lawrence (Giamatti) realizes that the earlier quake is nothing compared to what is to follow and must do whatever he can to try to warn people along the San Andreas fault line. With the cities crumbling around him Ray takes flight to go and save his estranged wife and then the two sets out on the dangerous quest to find and save their daughter among the ruins of San Francisco.
Reel Talk:
To repeat what I have been saying for awhile now, movies with action actors like Dwayne Johnson, Sylvester Stallone, and Arnold Schwarzenegger are only designed to thrill and entertain us. Do not go to see their films expecting anything more like great performances or even good plots. So on that note, yes it was entertaining. It was very predictable and some of the dialog was un-necessary especially when you are in the middle of a mission to save someones life, but still action packed with some jaw dropping special effects which serve the purpose of entertainment. If you go into it with that mentality you will not be disappointed. A cool date movie but would be best if you catch it on a matinee.
Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, Ioan Gruffudd, Archie Panjabi, Paul Giamatti, Hugo Johnstone-Burt and Art Parkinson

TOMORROWLAND
Plot:
Casey Newton (Robertson) is a very smart young teen whose thirst for science and ways to make the world a better place tends to lead her to troublesome situations. When her most recent stunt gets her arrested, her father bails her out and upon her release she is given a mysterious pen that once she touches it she is transported to a different dimensional world of advanced technology. Wanting to gain more knowledge about the pen and its attachment to this strange new world she hooks up with Athena
(Cassidy), the strange little girl who placed the pen into her possession and the two must find Frank Walker (Clooney) who was once a young boy genius that was ousted from the unique world of the future. He will have the answers to Casey's question and how they can save Tomorrowland from a soon pending destruction while the trio are now the target of a massive hunt to prevent them from that mission.
Reel Talk:
A good family movie with some very good visual effects. My question is, why out of all these movies that are tagged with 3D effects that aren't really 3D worthy, this one didn't make the cut? It would have really been good in Imax 3D with the special array of colors and images. But outside the spectacular visual effects the movie was just alright and a little longer than it probably should have been that ended up with a corny ending.
But as I mentioned earlier this will make a good family movie for the children other than that you can wait for it to be released on cable.
Starring: George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Hugh Laurie, Raffey Cassidy and Tim McGraw
Directed by: Brad Bird
Rated: PG

NEW "AMY" POSTER
A24 will open AMY in New York & Los Angeles on July 3, 2015
And Nationwide on July 10, 2015
From BAFTA award-winning director Asif Kapadia (SENNA), AMY tells the
incredible story of six-time Grammy-winner Amy Winehouse – in her own
words. Featuring extensive unseen archive footage and previously unheard
tracks, this strikingly modern, moving and vital
film shines a light on the world we live in, in a way that very few
can.
A once-in-a-generation talent, Amy Winehouse was a musician that
captured the world’s attention. A pure jazz artist in the most authentic
sense – she wrote and sung from the heart using her musical gifts to
analyse her own problems. The combination of her raw
honesty and supreme talent resulted in some of the most unique and
adored songs of the modern era.
Her huge success, however, resulted in relentless and invasive media
attention which coupled with Amy’s troubled relationships and precarious
lifestyle saw her life tragically begin to unravel. Amy Winehouse died
from alcohol poisoning in July 2011 at the age
of 27.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD
Plot:
During a post nuclear catastrophic era, Max (Hardy) who is a roaming nomad is taken captive by a group of blood harvesting speed junkies led by Immortan Joe (Byrne) an aged mad man who controls the people by controlling the food and water sources from the poor souls. Max is allowed an opportunity to escape when Furiosa (Theron) a fuel scout, hijacks a fuel tanker that is harboring a group of beautiful women that are concubines to the crazed leader who wants them back and so Max is able to climb aboard for an unwelcome ride. Eventually the two rebels realize that they must trust each other if they have any chance of surviving their cross desolated country journey while being chased by an army of savage unrelenting bandits.
Reel Talk:
WOW!!! It has been 36 years since George Miller directed the first Mad Mad that graced the screens and 30 years since Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome closed out the third installment for the Mad Max trilogy series, all which were classics thanks to a young Mel Gibson. So with Miller back at the helm with having such a long hiatus, will he be able to bring anything to the 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road? Well lets just say he injected a dose of steroids into this one. From the start to the end it is an action packed thrill ride rolling at full throttle with some heavy special effects. Hardy who snarls more and speaks less as Mad Max than his veteran colleague Gibson who made the character an icon, compensates with his overshadowing action. Now you have to remember that movies like this is only designed to entertain and so this is exactly what it does. Charlize Theron was menacing as the one armed robotic heroine who was more madder than Max. Unlike the previous Mad Max films that give some incite to his life before becoming the nomad this one just starts with him on the road, no history about him whatsoever. Still Mad Max fans will not be disappointed, this is a very thrilling and entertaining movie that is worth the admission.

HOT PURSUIT
Plot:
Officer Cooper (Reese), who is a by the book policewoman that is trying to overcome a bad reputation that she received from an earlier incident, is given an assignment to help a FBI agent escort an informant drug dealer and his wife to Dallas for witness protection. But when they are ambushed and only Cooper and Daniella Riva (Vergara) the dealer's wife being the only survivors, are now fugitives on the run while they are being chased by crooked cops and criminals who are trying to to kill them before they reach the destination for Daniella to testify against the druglord that murdered her brother.
Reel Talk:
This film is being labeled the new age Thelma and Louise. It is a nice female buddy movie that strongly plays up the sex appeal of Sofia Vergara. You will get a few laughs out of it but then some of the repetitive jokes like the one about Witherspoon's character Cooper looking like a little boy or the one about Vergara's character Daniella's age constantly changing, becomes tiresome. A cool, enjoyable movie just not one that you have to run out to put on your must see list.

"ZOOTOPIA" CAST CELEBRITY VOICES
VOICE CAST REVEALED
Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman Head to “Zootopia”
Walt
Disney Animation Studios welcomes Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman to
“Zootopia,” Disney’s 2016 animated feature set in a modern mammal
metropolis. Goodwin
(ABC’s “Once Upon a Time,” “Something Borrowed,” “Walk the Line”) will
lend her voice to an optimistic bunny named Judy Hopps who’s new to
Zootopia’s police department. Jason Bateman (“Horrible Bosses 2,” “This
is Where I Leave You”) voices the scamming fox,
Nick Wilde, who Judy reluctantly teams up with to crack her first case.
“We
knew that ‘Zootopia’ would only succeed if we found the perfect actors
to play our main characters,” said director Byron Howard (“Tangled,”
“Bolt”). “This
rabbit- and fox-duo are in practically every scene in the film
together. After meeting Ginnifer, we knew she embodied Hopps, the
ultimate pure-of-heart, idealist bunny. You fall in love with her
character instantly. And for Nick Wilde, our cynical con-artist
fox, we only ever had one actor in mind, the incomparable Jason
Bateman. Jason has a way of saying the most hilarious sarcastic things
while always staying completely charming. We feel so fortunate to be
working with both of them.”
The film opens nationwide March 4, 2016.
ABOUT THE MOVIE
The
modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised
of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid
Tundratown, it’s a melting
pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no
matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew,
you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps arrives, she
discovers that being the first bunny on a
police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove
herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means
partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde, to solve
the mystery. Walt Disney Animation Studios’
“Zootopia,” a comedy-adventure is directed by Byron Howard (“Tangled,”
“Bolt”) and Rich Moore (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “The Simpsons”) and
co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”).
