Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Debuts With Incredible $187.7M
Marvel’s 11th Title Grosses $626.7M Worldwide
Kicking off its domestic debut with a stellar $27.6M in Thursday night previews, Marvel’s
Avengers: Age of Ultron has brought in an estimated $187.7M to rank as the second biggest opening weekend of all time. Along with
The Avengers’ $207.4M and Iron Man 3’s
$174.1M, Marvel and Disney now hold the top three spots on the list of
the biggest domestic debuts. On Friday, the film posted the second
biggest single day ever with $84.5M.
Avengers: Age of Ultron
has now grossed an estimated $626.7M in 12 days of global release.
Debuting at #1 in every market since beginning its international rollout
April 22, the film has brought in an estimated $439M at the
international
box office overall. It posted the biggest opening weekend of all time
in Brazil, Mexico, Hong Kong, Ecuador and the Philippines and
additionally marks Disney and Marvel’s biggest opening weekend in Russia
and much of the Asia-Pacific region including Australia,
New Zealand, India, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, and
Thailand. Avengers: Age of Ultron is open in about 71% of the international market and is set to open in China on May 12 and in Japan on July 4.
