GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2
Plot:
Upon completing a mission to secure batteries for a powerful planet under the rule of the condescending Ayesha (Debicki), the Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill aka Star Lord (Pratt), Gamora (Saldana), Drax (Bautista), Rocket ( voiced by Cooper) and Baby Groot (voiced by Diesel) retrieve their payment which is an imprisoned Nebula (Gillan). After departing the planet they soon become under attack by Ayesha's aerial army only to realize that Rocket stole some of the batteries that they were to have returned. Forced to crash land on a planet that they had to hyper jump through a portal to attain to avoid the air strike, they encounter a strange man named Ego (Russell) who proclaims to be Peter's father. He then invites Peter to his planet and then wants him to become a part of his world literally. But it will soon be revealed that his intentions are not in the best interest of his son's but rather his own selfish reasons that include the demise of Peter's friends. This will then lead the Guardians to fight for their lives against Ego and his entire living planet.
Reel Talk:
I always say that it is rare that sequels live up to the standards of the original movie. Well this is another one of the rare films that actually lives up to the challenge. It is action packed, with great special effects and guaranteed to have you laughing. Of course Rocket the gun totting raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) steals the show with his sarcastic sense of humor. You will also have no choice but to adore Baby Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) as he dances his way into your heart. This is a fun movie, filled with action packed energy from beginning to the end. Worth every dollar for a family fun movie.
