Plot:
While leading a group of soldiers on a crusade to destroy the Witch Queen (Engelbrecht), Kaulder (Diesel) in the midst of killing the witch is curse with the gift of immortality some centuries ago. Now in the new modern era Kaulder is still witch hunting, keeping evil at a minumum until he is alerted about some mysterious deaths that lead back to the possibilty that the Witch Queen may have been ressurected and brought back to cause havoc and to take over the world. Now he must use all his resources and team with a young witch Chloe (Leslie) to hunt and find the witch to stop and kill her, preventing her evil world takeover.
Reel Talk:
Can you say "wickity, wickity wack"!!! Yes this movie was wack. I mean Vin Diesel is not an Academy Award actor and you don't go to his movies for his acting skills but rather his action packed physical presence on the screen, but he must have owed someone a favor or something to stoop to this corny movie. And then you got Elijah Wood and Oscar winner Michael Caine who contributed to this crap as well. It was a dull, stupid story and lackluster action. Diesel's cheesy kid's film The Pacifier was better than this. Save your time and your money on this one, you can wait for it to come on the FX of SYFY cable channels.
Starring: Vin Diesel, Rose Leslie, Elijah Wood, Michael Caine and Julie Engelbrecht
Directed by: Breck Eisner
Rated: PG-13
I give it 1 corn dog.

incomparable support from the team at Fox Searchlight, we couldn't be
more thrilled,” say Lunder and Cohen.

But when American Air Force pilot Francis Gary Powers (Stowell) is shot down and captured by the Soviet Union it is Donovan that the CIA turns to to go in and act unofficially on behalf of the United States to negotiate an exchange for the prisoners Powers and Abel being held by both countries. But it is not as simple as it seems because he must go to Berlin and deal with another third party who represents Russia to work out the deal, risking his own life for the sake of the transaction.
Reel Talk:
There is not a better director than Steven Spielberg who can transform the actual accounts of true events into a film and then when you have a well seasoned veteran in Tom Hanks, you already know that this movie is gonna be good. This suspenseful spy thriller is intense and will keep you engaged into the movie. Excellent performances by the cast anchored by Hanks who will surely be nominated for an Oscar for his role as the negotiating lawyer. A must see film, so definitely go check it out!

GOOSEBUMPS
Plot:
Zach (Minnette) and his mom have just relocated from New York to a small town for her new new job as assistant principle for the locale high school. Trying to adjust to the new environment he befriends his new neighbor Hannah (Rush) whose mysterious and strict father R.L. Stine (Black) is the famed author of the monster books series Goosebumps and when Zach and schoolmate Champ (Lee) while visiting Hannah accidentally unlock the original drafts of the author's books they unleash the actual monsters from the book's pages. The ring leader of the monster coup is Slappy (voiced by Black) a disgruntle puppet who wants to takeover the small town with his fictional army of terror. The teens along with Stine must now warn the town and try to come up with a plan to thwart the evil takeover and get the imaginary figures back on the pages of their books.
Reel Talk:
Move over Chuckie because Slappy is not happy!!! Not since Chuckie the demon doll has their been a doll or puppet that has been humorously terrifying. Goosebumps is a very good entertaining family movie. It is funny and will give you a few goosebumps here and there but not nothing that will keep you awake with nightmares. Good job by the cast with Jack Black contributing with three characters as R.L. Stine, the voice of Slappy and the Invisible Boy. This is a movie that is worth the admission and you will enjoy it just like I did.
Starring: Jack Black, Dylan Minette, Odeya Rush, Ryan Lee, Amy Ryan and Jillian Bell
Directed by: Rob Letterman
Rated: PG
I give it 4 stars.

SICARIO
Plot:
When FBI drug enforcement Agent Kate Macer (Blunt) who has been fighting hard trying to keep the Mexican drug Cartel from passing their drugs through the Texas border, gets the opportunity to join a special government task force run by Matt Graver (Brolin) and a mysterious consultant named Alejadro (Del Toro), she has no idea what she is getting herself into. The unit operating with government immunity infiltrates deep into the violent heart of Mexico to pick up a ranking member of the Cartel with hopes that he will lead them to the top drug lord. But after what seems to be some strange and illegal tactics with their approach she begins to question just how far and to what extent the task force will go to get their guy?
Reel talk:
SICARIO in Mexico means hitman...Well this movie is a 'hit man'!!! Right from the start you will feel the intensity that will continue throughout the entire film. This depiction of the raging war between the violent Mexican Cartel and the United States drug task force is riveting. The cast is on point with Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro leading the pack. Trust me get your snacks early and do your restroom runs because once the movie begins you will not want to leave to miss anything. Excellent movie that is worth checking out.

THE MARTIAN
Plot:
A crew of American astronauts while during a mission on Mars try to avoid a vicious storm and prepare to evacuate the planet and then when one of the crew members gets caught in the storm and presumed dead the remaining team takes off heading back to Earth. Once the storm has passed astronaut Mark Watney (Damon) who they thought dead but was only knocked unconscious, manages to get back to the base station and now must strategize a way to survive his ordeal until possibly the next mission comes that way. Meanwhile on Earth after realizing the blunder, Nasa and all the brilliant minds also try to figure a way to bring the stranded man home.
Reel Talk:
Many will try to compare this film to Sandra Bullock's outer space dilemma GRAVITY in which she was pretty much on the screen mostly by herself much of the movie which is hard in keeping the attention of the audience, well fortunately for Matt Damon he did not have to carry the load alone because he had a good cast of co-stars that helped in making this an enjoyable film. With that being said it also allowed Damon to display a humorous side to his character because he was able to feed off of the other cast members as they worked to get Watney home. Very good movie that I really enjoyed and say that it is worth cashing out to see.
Starring: Matt Damon, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Kristen Wiig, Michael Pena, Sean Bean and Donald Glover

GOODNIGHT MOMMY
Plot:
When twin brothers Lukas (Schwarz) and Elias (Schwarz) after being alone in their countryside home, have their mother (Wuest) return from having some cosmetic surgery done to her face they are happy. To find out if she is really their mom they set out to put her through some torturing tests that hoping that this will reveal the truth to her identity.
Reel Talk:
This was one weird movie and it is in subtitles so that made it even harder to follow along. You will definitely have to be one who likes both foreign films and films with subtitles. Now it was suspenseful but still it was to much work to watching it. This is one that if you wish to see it you can catch it on Netflix or cable. save your money!
