Plot:
Whip Whitaker (Washington) is a heavy drinking, drug inducing flight captain who after a night of partying must pilot a morning flight to Atlanta. While in mid flight the plane begins to experience technical difficulties. Whip a very skilled pilot demonstrates some unique maneuvers in order that he arranges a miraculous crash landing that limited the casualties to 6 out of 102. Even thou he is hailed a hero for saving so many lives he must still go through an investigation to determine whether it was a plane equipment malfunction or bad decision making because of flying intoxicated that caused the crashed that did result in the death of some. With attorney Hugh Lang (Cheadle) fighting to keep him out of jail, Whip still fights to control his drinking and drug addiction which is fueled by his dope dealing buddy Harling Mays (Goodman), that could compromise and impact his entire life.
Reel Talk:
Denzel Washington continues to show why he is still one of the best actors in the game. Flight is an exhilarating movie that will take you through so many stages, from being in awe, to laughter, to being sad and then being happy. Washington is not alone as he has a great supporting cast in Don Cheadle, John Goodman, Kelly Reilly and Bruce Greenwood. Even though most are cameo roles, they stand out with brilliant performances by all. This is definitely one of this years best movies that is well worth the admission. So get there early to grab your treats because from beginning to end you will stay glued to the screened.
