Reel Talk:
OK...right off the rip, this movie was meaninglessly long. It is about two hours and sixteen minutes long but about a hour of that could have easily hit the cutting room floor. I understand you have to have a story that leads up to a purpose but unfortunately people don't go to see super hero films for a long story but rather for their action. Movies like The Avengers and Captain America: Civil War have set the bar extremely high when it comes to films with good action flow. Now once the action does start taking place in the X-Men movie it is intense and worthy the long wait. My other gripe is that they keep doing period pieces with the X-Men series, when they are old, then young, what's next when they are pre-schooled??? Well anyway if you are a die hard X fan you will probably feel that this is the greatest movie ever but at best it is a good hour's worth of action packed entertainment. You would do best catching this one at the matinee.
