Plot:
Ben (De Niro) is a retired widower who just has not quite adjusted to being alone and unemployed. Always looking for something to keep himself occupied he applies for a new senior intern job for an online fashion store company owned and run by Jules (Hathaway) who is bombarded and on the fence about whether she should hire a CEO to run her company. Ben gets the job and is assigned to Jules as her intern assistant despite her reluctance for having a senior citizen working directly with her. She initially tries to come off hard to deal with but will soon realize Ben is a major asset to her as an employee and a friend.
Reel Talk:
I hate to admit this but the better movies being developed these days are done not with special effects and a ton of action but rather with veteran senior actors and actresses. One it gives them work (a paycheck) and then the opportunity to further the craft that has made most of them screen legends. Although some of the scripts for them may not be Academy Award winning material they still put in award winning performances. That being said Robert De Niro along with Rene Russo team with Anne Hathaway to give us an excellent movie in The Intern. It is delightfully funny with a good storyline and a good cast of characters that will take your mind off the fact that it is a little over 2 hours long. A good movie that I highly recommend and say to the senior actors and actresses...Keep doing what you do best = entertaining us!!!
