EVEREST

Plot:

People come from all over the world to take on the challenge of ascending to the peak of the world's highest mountain known as Mount Everest. It is 1996 and expert mountain climbing guide Rob Hall (Clarke) of Adventure Consultants will lead a group of thrill seeking mountain climbers on the journey enroute to the top of their destination. During the expedition the group encounters various obstacles complicating their scheduled time which causes them to wind up in the midst of a severe blizzard. The snow storm becomes so bad that it puts the climbers in a dangerous situation which will end up unfortunately fatal for some of them and a fight to survive for the rest.

Reel Talk:

WOW....this is all I can say about this film based on the actual devastating events that took place during 1996 for the mountain climbing group lead by Rob Hall who perished on top of that mountain. As I watched this movie it just had me thinking how amazing the extent that some people will push their minds and bodies to achieve that ultimate approval of self perseverance. I mean if Mount Everest was easily accessible without the risk I would be one of the first to be there at the top, but to put myself in a health and life compromising dilemma...not happening for this guy. Although this movie was visually entertaining especially in 3D, it was very sad. To see that people lost their lives and the mental and emotional strain that must haunt the survivors, leaves you to ask..was it worth it? Still this is a movie I would say that despite being sad it is worth checking out.
