Michigan owned and operated Emagine Entertainment, Inc. is pleased to announce that beginning with the launch of Disney’s “Cinderella” this weekend, Emagine Theatres will be giving all children, 11 years old and younger, a toy reflective of the current family movie theme.  The toy for “Cinderella” will be fairy tale finger puppets.  The free toy will be handed out to children at the conclusion of the feature as they are exiting the auditorium.

 

Paul Glantz, CEO of Emagine Entertainment, Inc. noted “In a highly competitive marketplace, it is important that we express our gratitude to customers and create a distinctive value proposition in the minds of consumers.  This initiative allows us to thank our guests and reward them for their patronage.”  The next children’s movie to come out in March will be DreamWorks’ “Home” and it will be shown in Emagine venues beginning on March 27^th.

STARRING ACADEMY AWARD WINNER EDDIE REDMAYNE;

FOCUS FEATURES TO RELEASE WORKING TITLE PRODUCTION DOMESTICALLY IN NOVEMBER 2015, UNIVERSAL PICTURES INTERNATIONAL TO RELEASE OVERSEAS

 

 

Working Title Films’ The Danish Girl, directed by Academy Award winner Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech, Les Misérables) and starring Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything, Les Misérables) and Alicia Vikander (A Royal Affair, Anna Karenina), will be released domestically by Focus Features in exclusive engagements in New York and Los Angeles beginning Friday, November 27^th, 2015, and by Universal Pictures International overseas. Focus CEO Peter Schlessel made the announcement today.

 

The Danish Girl is the remarkable love story inspired by the lives of artists Einar and Gerda Wegener (being portrayed, respectively, by Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander), whose marriage and work are cast into the unknown when Einar begins a groundbreaking journey to become one of the world’s first transgender women, Lili Elbe. The Danish Girl has been adapted into a screenplay by BAFTA Award nominee Lucinda Coxon, based on the novel of the same name by David Ebershoff. The film’s cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts (The Drop), Ben Whishaw (Skyfall), and Amber Heard (The Rum Diary). The film’s producers are Gail Mutrux (Kinsey) through her Pretty Pictures production company, Anne Harrison (Two Family House) through her Harrison Productions, Working Title co-chairs Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, and Tom Hooper. Linda Reisman is executive-producing The Danish Girl with Ulf Israel of Senator Global Productions.

 

Mr. Schlessel commented, “In the tradition of Focus’ history of epic and moving love stories, The Danish Girl promises to be unforgettable. Tom Hooper is an extraordinary storyteller who always elicits beautiful performances from his actors. We are so pleased to be working with Eddie Redmayne again after our shared success with Working Title on The Theory of Everything.”

 

Working Title’s The Theory of Everything, for which Mr. Redmayne last month won the Best Actor Academy Award and which last month won three BAFTA Awards including Best Actor, was released by Focus domestically in November 2014 and subsequently by Universal Pictures International overseas. The movie was nominated for four additional Academy Awards including Best Picture, and has grossed over $100 million worldwide.

THE SECOND BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL

Plot:

With the success of their current Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, business partners Sonny Kapoor (Patel) and Muriel Donnelly (Smith) head to the states to meet with possible investors to help them with opening their Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel in India. Upon the return to their hotel Sonny not only under pressure awaiting the arrival of a hotel scout to approve the loan but must prepare for his wedding in a few days to his lovely fiance, while the original Marigold tenants deal with the various issues that they are all faced with.


Reel Talk:

Dev Patel and Maggie Smith along with the other original cast members from the 2011 movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel return for another go round and this time Richard Gere and Tamsin Greig are added to the mix. This one continues to show that there is still life in these seasoned and aged actors and actresses as  well as further showcase the beauty of the Indian culture. Although it is an entertaining film it is not as good as the original, it is just too much going on to just focus on any one thing. And when Gere dances, that was a definite no no. Overall if you liked the first one you will enjoy this one also. A feel good movie worth the bucks.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Plot:

When businessman Dan Trunkman (Vaughn) unwilling  to take a pay cut from his shrewd and abusive boss Chuck (Miller), he sets out to start his own business with Timothy McWinters (Wilkinson) who was let go from the same company because he was considered too old and Mike Pancake (Franco) a naive and sheltered youngster who just wants to have a job. With each of the three businessmen going through their own personal crisis, they are desperately in need of a very lucrative deal that takes them to Germany to compete for the bid against former employer Chuck.


Reel Talk:

Despite the routinely unfunny, one dimensional character that Vince Vaugn portrays, this was a hilariously funny movie. Where Vaughn lacked in humor, Tom Wilkinson and Dave Franco more than made up. This is not a non stop laughing movie but it has enough for some big laughs.Some of the humor is raw and raunchy but still funny, So you can go in your pocket for this one for a good dose of some  hard chuckles.
