LONDON - Principal photography has begun on Millennium Films’ and Focus Features’ London Has Fallen, the sequel to the worldwide smash hit "Olympus Has Fallen."

Gerard Butler again stars as Secret Service agent Mike Banning, alongside Aaron Eckhart as the President of the United States.  Also returning are Academy Award^® winner Morgan Freeman, as Vice President Trumbull, Academy Award^® nominee Angela Bassett, as Secret Service Director Lynne Jacobs, and Academy Award^® winner Melissa Leo as Defense Secretary Ruth McMillan.

Babak Najafi ("Snabba Cash II") directs the thriller from a screenplay by Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt ("Olympus Has Fallen"), Christian Gudegast and Chad St. John.

The story begins in London, where the British Prime Minister has passed away under mysterious circumstances. His funeral is a must-attend event for leaders of the western world. However, what starts out as the most protected event on Earth turns into a deadly plot to kill the world's most powerful leaders, devastate every known landmark in the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. Only three people have any hope of stopping it: the President of the United States, his formidable Secret Service head (Gerard Butler), and an English MI-6 agent who rightly trusts no one. 

 

Reprising their roles in support are Academy Award^® nominee Robert Forster as General Edward Clegg, Sean O’Bryan as NSA Deputy Director Ray Monroe, and Radha Mitchell as Leah Banning.  Joining the returning cast members are Academy Award^® nominee Jackie Earle Haley, Alon Aboutboul (“The Dark Knight Rises”), Charlotte Riley, and Waleed Zuaiter (from the Academy Award^® nominated film “Omar”).

 

London Has Fallen is being produced by Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, John Thompson, Les Weldon, and Mark Gill. 

The executive producers are Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Peter Schlessel, Matt O'Toole, Boaz Davidson, Heidi Jo Markel, Christine Crow, Zygi Kamasa and Guy Avshalom. Lonnie Ramati is co-executive producer. Peter Heslop is co-producer. 

Mr. Najafi's creative team includes production designer Joel Collins ("Autobahn," "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"), costume designer Stephanie Collie ("Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels," "Layer Cake"), and cinematographer Ed Wild ("Autobahn").  Casting is by Elaine Grainger.

Focus Features will release London Has Fallen theatrically nationwide on October 2nd, 2015.

NIGHTCRAWLER

Plot:

When an unemployed, scrap metal peddling Louis Bloom (Gyllenhaal) comes upon a tragic auto accident he becomes intrigued with the video camera team  on the scene. He goes online to learn the tricks of the trade, buys a camcorder and sets out to capture footage to sell to a local news station managed by a horrific seeking producer named Nina Romina (Russo). Business gets better as he positions himself to become one of the premier cameramen covering the city's most shocking events. His thrill seeking ventures will soon take him on a dangerous path of no return just so that he can get his story.


Reel Talk:

This movie is way better than I had anticipated. It is a dark and intense thriller that will keep you glued to the screen. Gyllenhaal puts in a great performance as the nerdy but cold and calculating cameraman and Russo looks good and shows why she is still one of the best in the business as she turns in a riveting performance as the newsroom boss. Don't sleep on this movie, it is definitely one to see.

Plot:

Megan (Knightley) is a  mid twenties woman in the midst of a crisis from her overly judgmental friends and a lackluster relationship with her fiance who is pressuring her to get married, so you decides to take a getaway break for a week by shacking up with a teenage girl named Annika (Moretz) who she just recently befriended. Only problem is that they don't inform Annika's dad Craig (Rockwell) who eventually finds out and allows the runaway lady to stay in his house during the brief tenure of her escape. While there the situation between the two adults become a bit complicated as they begin to acquire feelings for each other that neither bargained on.


Reel Talk:

This is definitely a chick flick, teen or young adult chick flick to be exact. Keira Knightley is boring as the runaway bride and for his small parts Sam Rockwell gives the movie some character. Chloe Grace Moretz is your typical teenage star which she is not bad in her role. If you're a young teenage girl this will be a good weekend movie but other than that it would make for a good Lifetime movie.

BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP

Plot:

Nicole Kidman plays Christine, a woman who after having recovered from a brutal accident has a severe case of amnesia that when she falls asleep and awakens she has no recollection of the previous day. She has no idea of her past and only knows that she wakes up to a man named Ben (Firth) who claims to be her husband and a phone call from a Dr. Nasch (Strong) who instructs her to chronicle her days via a digital camera hoping that she will recall some vital memories. Each day as she records on the camera she unfolds information that will unveil a shocking and dangerous secret.


Reel Talk:

Where this movie has a good storyline it is just slow on its delivery. I know it has to be stretched out for the sake of being a film, but still there could have been some more grit into the script. It gets to a point where you just get kinda tired of Kidman's clueless and boring character of the amnesia victim Christine. As I mentioned up until the surprise twist ending this film is boring and you can pretty much sleep til then. In fact they should have titled this movie Before I go To Sleep On This Film...LOL! Anyway catch this one at your own risk, but can wait for this one to reach cable.
