JODY WATLEY AT CHENE PARK
JODY, JODY, JODY!!!
With rain threatening and then getting caught up in some much needed business deals, attending last night show at the Chene Park Amphitheater was a question mark. But then after finishing up some last minute business I got to the show very late but just in enough time to catch the beginning of Jody Watley taking to the stage. Boy oh Boy...was I glad that I made it because it was good to see Jody Watley, one of the rare artists that I had never seen perform, even when see was a member of Shalamar. Although older now she still put it down on the stage and still sounded quite good. My though is that you can never go wrong with an old school concert. It turned out to be a wonderful evening, weather wise and with a good performance!

FRANKIE BEVERLY AND MAZE AT CHENE PARK
On a hot Sunday evening (probably the hottest day of the summer so far) , THE REEL HUSTLER stopped down to cool off at the Chene Park amphitheater for my first concert of the summer. What a good concert to choose because it was Frankie Beverly and Maze. The show started with Angela Winbush who belted out all hits getting the audience stirred up. Next was the SOS Band who continued to worked the crowd over while performing their jams from the past. Then next on the stage was the headliner Frankie Beverly and Maze who you already know came out in their traditional white outfits to perform all the hits that we have enjoyed for so many years. There was always rumors that his voice was giving out on him but on that Sunday evening there was no indication of that at all. Very good show to a sold out crowd at the river front concert venue.

THE REEL HUSTLER was at a Sunday cookout and just chilled with TV Judge Greg Mathis and music producer and former Chapter 8 member Mike Powell.
