Plot:
Having retrieved the Power Stone from the planet Xandar, the colossal Thanos (Brolin) and his evil army have now overtaken Asgard threatening to kill Thor (Hemsworth) for the Space Stone. When he finally gets the stone he kills Loki (Hiddleston) instead, leaving Thor to mourn among his body and his annihilated world. With two stones in his custom made glove Thanos sends his minions to earth to retrieve the Mind Stone from Vision (Bettany) and the Time Stone from Dr. Strange (Cumberbatch) while he sets out to find the Reality Stone and the Soul Stone. Thanos and his army will stop at nothing, destroying anything or anyone that stands in his way of collecting the remaining four stones. But when Bruce Banner (Ruffalo) who narrowly escaped from Asgard crashes back to Earth he warns Dr. Strange and then Iron Man (Downey) who must reluctantly assemble the other Avengers to help ward off the pending invasion. Meanwhile Thor is rescued in deep space by Star-Lord (Pratt) and the rest of The Guardians Of The Galaxy to unite and try to stop Thanos from gathering two of the stones from two different planets because if he should get all six of the stones he will be able to destroy half the universe with just the snap of his finger.
Reel Talk:
This film was ten years in the making and boy was it worth the wait. It is a whopper of a movie, full of action and special effects that die hard Marvel Comics fans or action junkies will enjoy. The movie is a roller-coaster ride, with again action, special effects, humor and some saddening moments. Just prepare for the ride. Now to be nearly three hours long, could they have cut some scenes? Yes because even though some scenes were there to build up to a certain scene, they were stiff or should I say plain boring, but they are there to get to a certain point. All your favorite superheros are back with the exception of Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye and while Mark Ruffalo was back as Bruce Banner, I didn't quite understand why The Hulk only made a cameo appearance. Also most of the heroes have been given makeovers which I had to adjust to because you are expecting the normal costumes. This is a good film that will be a bonifide box office blockbuster, so go check it out and make your contribution to the cause. You won't be disappointed.
Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Josh Brolin, Chris Pratt and Tom Hiddleston
Directed by: Anthony Russo and Joe Russo
Rated: PG-13

Reel Talk;
This is just another typical Amy Schumer movie. You will get a few laughs here and there, but nothing consistently So don't go into the theater thinking you're going to bust your side with laughter because that just won't be the case. Still it was a good film with a good story and a good cast. It is worth checking out.
Starring: Amy Schumer, Michelle Williams, Tom Hopper, Rory Scovel, Emily Ratajkowski, Lauren Hutton and Adrian Martinez
Directed by: Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein
Rated: PG-13
I give it 3 corndogs.

DEBBIE ALLEN IN DETROIT FOR DANCE AUDITIONS
FAME IN THE D!
On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, your city wide entertainment news correspondent, THE REEL HUSTLER made his way over to Marygrove College that is located in Detroit at 8425 W. McNichols. Upon arriving on the scene and entering the building, you could not help but notice the long line of young children and teens that were there to audition for a summer dance academy. This is not just some small time dance academy, it is the Carr Center's Summer Dance Intensive in conjunction with the Debbie Allen Dance Academy (DADA).On hand for the auditions was Debbie Allen herself. Debbie Allen who is an accomplished dancer, choreographer and teacher, who also branched off into acting and directing is widely known for for her early career as a dancer. So sticking close to her roots she came to Detroit to pick from among some of the city's most talented dancers to see who will advance on to join the summer dance academy program which is headed up by The Carr Center President Oliver Ragsdale, Jr. and Debbie Allen's DADA instructors. It was a joy and a treat for THE REEL HUSTLER to be on deck to see Debbie Allen give on hand instructions to some of the promising dance talent.
This is my life, the life of THE REEL HUSTLER!!!

RAMPAGE
Plot:
David Okoye (Johnson) is an animal behavioral specialist who along with his team oversees a zoo for rare animals. One of his prize pets is an albino gorilla named George that he saved from poachers as a baby and raised him in the zoo. When an animal genetics experiment that was sent into space by a science company ran by the sister and brother team of Claire (Akerman) and Brett (Lacy) Wyden, goes wrong, some of the sample canisters of the experiment land back on earth. Three animals affected by the genetic mutating mist is a wolf, an alligator and George. They become extremely huge in size and savagely unable to tame, even George. David trying to do what he can to save his pet friend George, encounters a scientist named Dr. Kate Caldwell (Harris), who has a checkered past but says she can assist him. Then they also encounter a mysterious country man in black named Russell (Morgan) who works for the government sent to contain the creatures. But when the Wydens sends a beacon signal for the creatures to follow to Chicago, it appears that there is nothing that will stop them from wreaking havoc along the way and when they get there.
Reel Talk:
This was like watching a pint size King Kong and Godzilla along with a super sized wolf from the Twilight movies...LOL! The movie is full of action but also full of a bunch of corny lines from Dwayne Johnson and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Despite the goofy lines, people go to see Dwayne flex his pecks on the camera. That is what he gets paid to do. A good action packed movie that is worth cashing out at the box office.
Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jake Lacy and Joe Manganiello
Directed by: Brad Peyton
Rated: PG-13

A QUIET PLACE
Plot:
The Earth has become terrorized by some strange, but vicious creatures that hunt humans by sound. For one family, The Blunts, who are residing on some farmland, they have been struggling with surviving quietly so as not to attract the creatures that have already taken one of the children previously. Being quiet is more challenging than they imagine as they are faced with trying situations. Lee the dad, is continuously seeking help by radio transmission while his wife Evelyn is in the final stages of a pregnancy. Their children, pre-teen daughter Regan, who is a bit rebellious and young son Marcus are sometimes a bit careless and causes some sounds that puts themselves in danger. With no rescue on the horizon they must work together quietly if they plan to manage living among these creatures or they will wind up dead.
Reel Talk:
This movie has an interesting plot. Butttt some of the details is just down right stupid. I know in scary movies people always do dumb things, but this one just has too many. It is also just not really that scary either. I think my screening partner jumped maybe twice. Not a bad movie, it is enteretaing to a point but just not as good as it could have been. Can really wait and catch this one on DVD or even cable. If you just need that big screen effect, catch it at a matinee.
Starring: Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, Cade Woodward, Leon Russom and Doris McCarthy
Directed by: John Krasinski
Rated: PG-13
I give it 2 and a half eaten corn dogs.

BLOCKERS
Plot:
While dropping off there little girls to elementary school, the three parents of each of the girls, Lisa (Mann), Mitchell (Cena) and Hunter (Barinholtz) create a bond with each other. The three girls, Julie (Newton), Kayla (Viswanathan) and Sam (Adlon), are now in their senior year and getting ready for the prom. When Julie who is in love with her high school sweetheart decides that on prom night she will give her virginity up to him, her other two friends agree that they to will have sex as well on the same night. So when on prom night the parents happen to stumble onto one of the girls laptop and see that the girls have agreed to this sexpact, the parents set out to sabotage that plan. But what is suppose to be a night for the girls to remember will soon wind up being a night that the parents may not want to remember.
Reel Talk:
This is a straight in your face, raw and to the point comedy film. Leslie Mann, Jon Cena and Ike Barinholtz are hilarious as the three insecure parents that are out to stop their daughters from giving up their virginity. But be advised that some of the humor is really raw and uncut, so if you get offended easily, this may not be a film to go see. Overall it is a funny movie, with a good cast. Worth cashing out for some raw and raunchy humor.
Starring: Leslie Mann, John Cena, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Newton, Geraldine Viswanathan, Gideon Adlon, Gina Gershon and Gary Cole
Directed by: Kay Cannon
Rated: R

Black Panther Overtakes Titanic as 3rd Biggest Movie at U.S. Box Office
Marvel's Black Panther has now broken another box office record, becoming the third highest grossing movie of all time in North America, beating James Cameron's Titanic. Black Panther has now officially made $665.4 million domestically and is only behind The Force Awakensand Avatar, with the latter being another Cameron film. Marvel now has the highest grossing superhero movie of all time with the Ryan Coogler-directed movie, which has become a global and cultural phenomenon since its release back in February.
Black Panther has made nearly $1.3 billion at the global box office and shows no signs of stopping at this time. Originally released in 1997, Titanicearned $600.8 million throughout its initial theatrical run, adding $57.9 million for its 3D re-release in 2012 and nearly a million dollars last year for its 20th anniversary release. As far as a worldwide scale, James Cameron's Titanic still has the upper hand at $2.2 billion after all of the re-releases and anniversary theatrical runs. The movie famously won the Academy Award for best picture in 1998 and is considered by many to be one of the greatest movies of all time.
Not only is Black Panther the highest grossing superhero movie of all time, but it's also the highest rated on Rotten Tomatoes with a score that fluctuates between a 97 and 98 percent. Before the pre-sale tickets of Infinity War, Black Panther had the highest amount of pre-sale tickets sold through Fandango as well. The Chadwick Boseman-starring movie also now holds the record for the highest grossing movie ever released in February, beating out the previous record holder, Deadpool, which came out in February of 2016 and became a surprise hit at the box office.
Obviously, when a movie does as well as Black Panther has, talks of a sequel begin to spread. However, talks of Black Panther 2 started while the first movie was still in production. Marvel realized early on that the cast and director Ryan Coogler had something special. It has not been officially confirmed that Coogler will direct the sequel, but Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has already expressed his desire for the director to return, which will more than likely see a huge pay raise from working on the first Black Panther movie.
As for the cast of Black Panther, most of the main players are returningfor Marvel's Infinity War at the end of the month. The latest TV spot for Infinity War puts much of the focus on Wakanda and its people, featuring a chant along with some humor from the once hidden nation. For now, Black Panther has sunken James Cameron's Titanic at the domestic box office, becoming the third highest grossing movie in North American box office history, a feat that should be celebrated by everybody involved in the project. You can check out the rest of the box office domestic records over at Box Office Mojo.

READY PLAYER ONE
Plot:
In the year 2044, Earth in the midst of an economic and energy depression, the only amusing entertainment for the people is a virtual reality game where you wear dimensional goggles called OASIS developed by the rich and eccentric James Halliday (Rylance). Upon his death he increases people interest in the game by issuing the players a chance to search for an egg that he has installed within OASIS, and whoever finds it first will win a fortune and his business. Wade Watts (Sheridan), a young, loner teen who lives in the Stacks (a community of trailer homes pile up on each other) joins in the tournament, but will soon realize that the stakes are much higher as others are out to prevent him from winning. He will also have to rescue Samantha (Cooke) who he met while playing the game and has become fond of.
Reel Talk:
To keep it really reel, I have to say that due to me being super exhausted from my weekend helping out at the One Harlem Night play, I fell asleep on this film. But to be honest I was not big on video games of any sort so it may have also been hard for me to follow along. So this one you will have to go at your own risk. Keeping it reel!!!
Starring: Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, Lena Waithe, T.J. Miller, Simon Pegg and Mark Rylance
Directed by: Steven Spielberg
Rated: PG-13
I give it an incomplete rating.
