FATE OF THE FURIOUS
Plot:
No longer fugitives, Dom (Diesel) and Letty (Rodriguez) are now just hanging out in Cuba, enjoying a simple modest life. Dom has pretty much taken on a daily routine that will soon be interrupted when he has a chance encounter with a woman named Cipher (Theron) who he believed to be stranded until she notifies him that his services is required for a job that he can't refuse nor mention to his friends or team. Upon completing the first task, Dom betrays his team and leaves Hobbs (Johnson) to take the fall, leading to his imprisonment. The only way to prove his innocence, Hobbs must escape prison but also reunite and reluctantly team with his old nemesis and current prison mate Deckard (Statham) so that they can hook up with Letty and the other team members to stop and capture the rogue Dom and the evil and mysterious Cipher who wants to build a weapon that will give her nuclear control.
Reel Talk:
This is the eighth installment into the Fast and Furious franchise and you can bet not the last. Yes the gang is back together for another wild and crazy ride. Now the truth is that this is not by no means the best one yet, it really may be the most cheesiest but and I do say "but", this film series is designed to entertain, with high levels of testosterone, extreme and over the top action and fast exotic cars. So mission accomplished because it will serve the purpose intended. The addition of Charlize Theron makes it interesting because of the ruthlessness of her villain character Cipher. So this film is worth the money, just go there expecting what you need to expect from it and that is an action packed, fast car driving movie.
Starring: Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriquez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Charlize Theron
Directed by: F. Gary Gray
Rated: PG-13
I give it 3 corn dogs.

GIFTED
Plot:
Young Mary Adler (Grace) is a very unique girl, she inherited the knowledge of being a skilled mathematician from her mother who died when Mary was just an infant. Now residing with her uncle Frank (Evans) who wants to raise the young girl as a normal kid that grows up around other normal kids rather than isolate her in some adult think tanks. She will eventually become the center of a nasty legal custody battle between her uncle Frank and his mother, her grandmother Evelyn (Duncan), who wants to take the young genius and stuff her away in an adult university for gifted mathematicians. The wrong decision could be damaging to the well being and future of the talented girl, as her fate will now rest at the mercy of the judicial system.
Reel Talk:
This was a charming and delightful film about a gifted young mathematician and her uncle who only wants what is best in raising her in a normal environment instead of bogging her down and putting her young mind into a pressure cooker at the expense of solving math problems. It is a very good story and the performances are good from the selected cast mates. This is a good family movie that is worth checking out and you will enjoy it.
Starring: Chris Evans, McKenna Grace, Octavia Spencer, Lindsay Duncan, Jenny Slate and Glenn Plummer
Directed by: Marc Webb
Rated: PG-13
I give it 4 corn dogs.

GOING IN STYLE
Plot:
While Joe (Caine) is at the bank meeting with the manager in an attempt to keep from losing his home due to the unreasonably high increase on the mortgage loan to which he is denied, the bank is held up by three robbers. On top of about to lose his home, Joe along with longtime pals Willie (Freeman) and Albert (Arkin) will have their pensions revoked from the company that they have worked for most of their lives so that the failing business can used to the funds to cover their debts. Fed up Joe convinces his buddies to join him in a bank heist so that they can live their remaining years worry free of finance issues. After a botched trial run at a grocery store the trio decides they must enlist the help of a seasoned thug Jesus (Ortiz) to groom them to be bank robbers. After the bank job the over the hill gang must try to avoid being caught by an over zealous Detective Hamer (Dillion) who would not mind locking the aged bandits away for the duration of their lives.
Reel Talk:
This was a good movie, with a good cast and well scripted. I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed seeing veteran actors with skills who can make a movie worthwhile instead of relying on outrageous action and extreme special effects. Just good old fashion acting and that is what you get from Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Alan Arkin and Ann-Margret, along with a few others. You will definitely laugh and may even root for the riped robbers as they plot the perfect comedy caper. You can expect to laugh with the talent from the actors and the directing from comedy actor Zach Braff, you can't go wrong. Again good movie, well worth cashing out and worth every penny.
Starring: Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Alan Arkin, Ann-Margret, Christopher Lloyd, Matt Dillion and John Ortiz
Directed by: Zach Braff
Rated: PG-13
I give it 4 corn dogs.
