THE MICHIGAN CHRONICLES 2014 LEGACY IN MOTION GALA
The stars came out and everyone dressed to impress for The Michigan Chronicles 2014 Legacy In Motion Gala held at The Cobo Convention Center. The Reel Hustler was on deck to grab some flicks of this years honorees, basketball legend turned businessman Earvin "Magic" Johnson, retired General Motors Executive Roy Roberts, Wayne County Executive Elect Warren Evans and Bishop Edgar Vann just to name a few. This is always a wonderful affair as it honors those that give back and continue to help in the advancement and improvement of the city of Detroit.
2014 WALK AGAINST HOMELESSNESS
It was a real privilege for The Reel Hustler to serve on the committee for the 2014 Walk Against Homelessness hosted by HAND (Homeless Action Network of Detroit). This year we were honored to have as Grand Marshals, Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones, comedian/radio personality "COCO", Miss Inkster Whitney Holmes and special guest comedian/actor Michael Colyar that attended the Pre Walk Gala the evening before the walk. Although the weather proved to be a challenge with freezing rain that iced up the streets, we still prevailed as we detoured the walk inside the structure of the registration center. Hey I even ran into actress Bern Nadette Stanis....GOOD TIMES!!!
DICK GREGORY/PAUL MOONEY CONCERT
The legendary comedian and social activist Dick Gregory was in town for a show he did with Paul (moody) Mooney that was hosted by comedian Bill Hill. The Reel Hustler got the chance to get some words of knowledge from the wise Mr. Gregory. Interview coming soon.
I DECLARE WAR RED CARPET PREMIER
The Reel Hustler was in the house for local filmmaker Dennis Reed II's red carpet premier screening for his new movie "I Declare War" about the power struggles within the city between the various mob factions (Black, Italian, Arabic, etc...). This movie is a setup for a mini series that Mr. Reed has scheduled to be released on Netflix. The premier was well attended by the cast and crew along with a host of family, friends and well wishers. Good job Dennis Reed II!

HORRIBLE BOSSES 2
Plot:
The misfit trio of Nick (Bateman), Kurt (Sudeikis) and Dale (Day) are back at it again. This time rather than plot to kill their bosses, they try to strike it out on their own as entrepreneurs only to end up being hoodwinked by a billionaire Bert Hanson (Waltz) that puts them in a financial crisis. They at first come up with the idea to kidnap the wealthy man's spoiled but scorned son Rex (Pine) but decides against it but then they are extorted into it by the rebellious son so that he can collect the money to maintain his lavish lifestyle. With the cops hot on their trail, the not so smart threesome must come up with a plan not to get caught, stay out of jail and not get killed while they are framed for the foiled caper.
Reel Talk:
These guys (Bateman, Sudeikis and Day) are the modern day Three Stooges. They are hilariously stupid and funny. Now if you're not a fan of over the top, raunchy humor you will not appreciate this movie. You have to go in with the notion that you are open to raw stupid slapstick comedy and a desire to laugh. This is an all around fun movie with a good cast. Definitely a must see movie and worth the admission.
Starring: Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, Chris Pine and Christopher Waltz
Directed by: Sean Anders
Rated: R
I give it 3 and a half eaten corn dogs
